WHAT'S NEW?

The past several years have been a busy time for Dave, with the release of four major books and the continuation of James Bond related events.

In 2007, 20th Century Fox Studios in Hollywood commissioned Dave and Lee to research, write and design a prestigious hard back book about the making of the classic war films The Longest Day, Tora! Tora! Tora! and Patton Lust For Glory. This was the first time this major studio had published a book, and the result was a superb 162-page volume crammed with facts and many never-before-seen photos dedicated to these three excellent movies. Released with 6 DVDs concealed within the cover, The Great Fox War Movies is currently available from all leading retail outlets. Such was the success of this book Dave and Lee wrote two more books for Fox - 'The Planet of the Apes: 40-Year Evolution' (2009) and 'The Sound of Music Scrapbook' (2010), both released in deluxe DVD boxed sets world-wide

2007 saw Dave and Lee produce another deluxe hard-bound book, this time about the John Wayne classic The Alamo. Again, like the war book, the duo wrote and designed The Alamo: A Visual Celebration of John Wayne’s Classic Movie resulting in a 184-page publication containing over 600+ rare photographs, and many fascinating behind-the-scenes stories never told before. This book was produced as a numbered and signed limited edition of just 1500 copies and can be purchased direct by conatcing Cinema Retro at cinemaretro@hotmail.com

So what does the future hold? Well, apart from the recent Fox book, both Dave and Lee continue to publish the very successful magazine Cinema Retro (see www.cinemaretro.com for details) and are currently working on a book about the Hollywood sex sirens of the sixties and seventies.
