DAVE WORRALL: AUTHOR/DESIGNER

Author of The Most Famous Car In The World - the complete history of the Aston Martin used in the James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball. Dave formed his own company to publish this book, after being told by most major publishing houses that it was not a viable subject. It went on to become one of the biggest selling automotive books of 1991, and is now on its 5th print run!

This was followed up with The James Bond Diecasts of Corgi, a look at the long-standing relationship between the Bond films and the British-based toy car company - one of the longest running licensing agreements in the history of the toy and film industry.

Co-author (with Lee Pfeiffer of America) of The Essential Bond, a detailed history of the most successful film series of all time. Published by Boxtree, and authorized by film-makers Eon Productions, it is one of the biggest selling James Bond movie books ever. It took the No1 spot
in Empire Magazine's book charts, and was No5 in The Mail On Sunday's best selling books of
Christmas 1999.

Dave has also written many James Bond related articles for major magazines, including Classic & Sportscar, The Daily Mail, The Times, Collect!, Model & Collectors Mart and several European automotive magazines. His article about the toy Aston Martin in Model Collector magazine won him the 'Best Article of 1997' award.

Dave is also a freelance graphic designer, and has been responsible for the sleeve art of many home movie releases, including Walt Disney and Star Wars. He edits, designs and produces a tri-annual movie magazine for a UK film distributor, and designed the books The James Bond Diecasts of Corgi and James Bond's London. Dave was also responsible for designing the souvenir brochure for 'The World of OO7' travelling exhibition, produces 'Collecting OO7' magazine for the James Bond Collectors Club, and even produced and photographed Page 3 and Mayfair stunner Joanne Latham, for a film industry Calendar! Previously a marketing manager for a film company, Dave has over 20 years experience in sales promotion, organising exhibitions (he was the very first person to pursuade Pinewood Studios to hold a public attended convention on their premises in 1989!), and devising both TV and radio campaigns for the retail sector.

Dave also publishes (with Lee Pfeiffer) CINEMA RETRO, the only magazine in the world dedicated to cinema of the '60s and '70s. A glossy, full-colour publication issued three times a year, it is generally acknowledged as the 'bible' within the film industry for information about cinema past and has included contributions by Christopher Lee, Hugh Hefner, Richard Johnson, Joe Dante, Elke Sommer, Vic Armstrong, Sir Christopher Frayling, Lalo Schifrin, Michael Winner, Euan Lloyd, Sir Ken Adam and Robert Vaughn, to name but a few.

Dave (again with Lee Pfeiffer) teamed up with noted DVD documentary maker Laurent Bouzereau to produce 'The Art of Bond' (Boxtree) in 2006, a celebration of the James Bond films from an artistic viewpoint. In the same year, 20th Century Fox commissioned Dave and Lee to research, write and design 'The Great Fox War Movies', a deluxe hardbound book about the making of The Longest Day, Patton and Tora! Tora! Tora!, which was issued with six DVDs encased in the cover - a first for a major Hollywood film studio. 2007 saw a similar project take place - this time a limited edition hardback book, 'The Alamo: A Visual Celebration of John Wayne's Classic Movie', written by Lee Pfeiffer and designed by Dave for Sundown Entertainment in America.

Following the success of the war book, Fox commissioned Dave and Lee to write 'The Planet of the Apes: 40-Year Evolution' in 2009. The hardback book was presented in a deluxe box set of Blu-ray versions of the iconic 'Apes' films on DVD. In 2010, Dave and Lee were asked again by Fox to write another deluxe hardback book, this time for the film 'The Sound of Music', which came out with the Blu-Ray version of the film.

Dave is currently involved with several major publishing projects relating to the world of film, and continues to offer his services as a consultant in the world of media and film.
